Century Bob XL Unboxing & Review

Is the Century Bob XL worth it?

Upclose shot of the Century Bob XL in someone backyard during a sunny day.

Recently I go this free standing punching bag style equipment from Century  This is the Century Bob XL and this was how it was shipped to me! Nicely package and pretty easy to assemble. I got it all in one package but I have heard of others getting the Bob XL in two different packages separately.

Once I got the item I decided that I was going to keep my Century Bob XL outside. Since I can take the top portion off the base I am gonna leave the base outside and keep the top portion (Bob) inside.

I will do a future update on this blog and on my channel so feel free to follow and subscribe to stay up to date to see how the Century Bob XL lasts outside.

You can fill the base up with water or sand that is what is most commonly use.  But since I am keeping it outside I did not want to use water because I have heard of it freezing during winter and cracking the base. So I decided to use river rocks. It's heavy and less messy compared to sand.

Bags of river rocks at Lowes for sale.

River rocks was a better option for me since its heavy and cheap to get. Also unlike water I won't worry about it freezing. I plan on keeping the base outside so I am not gonna worry about it being too heavy to move. I put in about 200 pounds of river rocks. I might add another 50 pounds in the future.

So at the shortest height the Century Bob XL is 60" inches or 5 feet. It's pretty easy to take off and adjust the setting. At the tallest height it is 82" inches.

The Century Bob XL lifted to its tallest setting.

I also decided to keep the Century Bob XL on these outdoor mats I got from Amazon. So when it slides around when I hit it there will be a less chance of it getting damage.

So far after using this Century Bob XL for a few weeks I love it! It's worth it for me since it gives me something to train with since I do not have a heavy bag at home or room for one. The body of the Bob is great to use to train with. You could work on things you couldn't compared to a heavy bag such as upper cuts to the chin. You can aim for parts of the body like the ribs or temple. One thing I would say is if you are looking to condition your shins for kicks the heavy bag would be the better option compared to the Century Bob XL.

You can also use the Century Bob XL for things such as weapons training, knees, clinches, groin attacks, knees, etc. True this won't replace the heavy bag but this Century Bob XL is an amazing tool to add to your training. I had a Bob before! It was the regular one I left it outside as well but it was when I was living in Florida! Great review bro!

Really great post and I didn’t even think about using the water and having it freeze in the winter time so River rocks was a great idea. Keep the amazing blogs coming!
